The New York Pattern Company (Gold Seal) of New York, NY offered this princess fitted dress pattern numbered 849.
Their description reads:
"High neck with slashed opening at front; underfaced and rolled in revers, perforated for sweetheart neckline. Set-in long sleeves with perforation for short and 3/4 length sleeves."
This is sized 20 which in this case is a 38" (bust), and 41" hip, which is of itself another rarity: finding larger sized sewing patterns are nearly impossible to find, let alone in such excellent condition.
There are only 5 pieces for this, and all five are present. The instruction sheet is included.
The envelope is worn on the ends, and the flap has a tear in it, but the pattern itself is perfectly ready to be laid and cut.
Interestingly, the models on the front bear a faint resemblance to Grace Kelly (in the print) and Joan Crawford (with her hair swept up, and in red).
