This sewing pattern by Butterick is for a very pretty, feminine shirt waist dress with adorable little Peter Pan collar and has only 7 pieces to create it!
All pieces are present, and have been cut.
Their description is:
"Wear-everywhere one-piece dress has a button front bodice and a dirndlish one-piece skirt. Bodice front gathers to the lowered shoulder seam. (A) Small collar, short sleeves. (B) Cuffed three-quarter sleeves. (C) Sleeveless."
They suggest using fabrics of: Chambray, Gingham, Silk or Cotton Broadcloth, Shangtung, Pongee, Crepe, Bordered Cottons.
They actually illustrated view C with a border print, and we agree: this would be really fantastic using one for this dress!
They show each version with a belt, however they do not include a pattern for a self belt.
This is drafted as a (vintage) size 16, which, at that time meant a bust of only 34", a waist of 28, and (for this) the hips are free, even though they list hip as 37". Finished length is 47".
If you know how to grade patterns, you can easily resize this to fit you.
We could find no date on the envelope or instruction sheet, but we did notice that the instruction sheet is stamped "Litho in USA" as opposed to a (later) "printed in USA."
Colors of the illustrated dresses on the pattern are light blue, pastel yellow and white.
The envelope is in pretty good shape except for a tear at the upper corner: it is sturdy enough all over to contain the pattern within it.
