This authentic vintage 70s sewing pattern is from Simplicity for hot pants, short shorts and t-shirts both short and long sleeved.
The pattern number is 9756. It is new in the package, never cut. (yes, all pieces are present)
This is sized Misses size 10, which, in the 70s, translates to a bust of only 32 1/2, and a waist of 24.
The description (in part) on the package reads:
Misses' top and hop hugger short shorts. designed for knit fabrics only.
The hip-hugger short shorts made to be worn 1 1/2" below normal waistline have top-stitched patch pockets and elastic casing at upper edge.
The illustration is adorable, and in excellent condition.
There are a couple of small pencil circles on the back of the envelope; it looks like a previous owner was contemplating how much fabric they were going to need.
We have seen graphics from sewing envelopes like these photocopied and used to make refrigerator magnets, bookmarks, even made into really cool wrapping paper.
As for the garments this pattern can produce, how cute are they? perfect to wear for Spring break, and or any summer fun.
