we were very fortunate to acquire these original dress patterns in a bit more normal, larger sizing ~ this one is for a bust of 42, and hip of 45
numbered 4992, this was published in 1944.
plain tissue with perforated letters only ~ these pieces are not printed, however there is an instruction sheet included which they call their Primer ~ a guide for cutting and sewing...detailed dressmaking
They describe the pattern as:
"Women's dress and dickey. The dress is styled with soft gathers at the waist, back, a one-piece shoulder yoke and a slimly gored skirt.
Style l has a set-in collar, short sleeves, a small patch pocket and one button at the center front.
Style II features a dickey and detachable cuffs. Choose short or three-quarter sleeves."
We LOVE this classic, timeless shirt-dress ~ a pure staple for any woman's wardrobe.
We also love the graphics on these old patterns ~ this one features one of the dresses in navy blue with white collar (dickey) and cuffs, while the other is a lovely moss green with white polka dots.
Great pattern, all pieces are present and accounted for.
