This classic necktie is labeled "All Silk" with the Pauline Trigère lower case label that was actively used from the 1950s through the 1990s.
We estimate this tie to be 1970s because of the colorway of taupe with blue and red and ivory, or possibly earlier since its only 3 1/4" at its widest, and the label still has the dots for the i's, rather than the dashes that appear in the 1980s. (thanks to the Vintage Fashion Guild Label Resource for their information on Trigere's label history).
Total length of 55". The back of the tie is quite slim, only 1 1/2" wide for 30" from the tip, then it gradually widens.
The design motif is small (only 1/4" across) and subtle; they look like small Celtic knots with a blue oval interlocked with a red oval, and an ivory white tiny center. Some would refer to this as a foulard print.
Classic colors; easily coordinated with browns and navy blues in particular (and therefore blue jeans, too) ~
In excellent condition; it is spotless and ready to wear.
Nice graduation gift for your son/brother/cousin that's entering business college, or the work force. Father's Day. Birthday gift for any businessman.
