This sweet confection of a bubble hat was created by Miss Sally Victor New York, one of America's foremost milliners from the 1930s through the 1960s. It was designed to accent those lovely upswept feminine hair styles of the 60s, bouffants & beehives, and inspired by likes of Jackie Kennedy.
This is a swirl of baby blue netting and sheer blue chiffon strips criss crossing with layered light blue flowers and green satin leaves reinforced with tiny bits of bendable wire. It has a sturdy blue mesh base and velveteen facing band.
This pretty little hat is a tiny 16" around to perch atop a beehive or bouffant hair style, this is NOT intended to be pulled down on the head; it comes with two 3/4" combs to assist in keeping it in place.
This is in very good condition; the only issue would be a very slight hint of darkening around the velvet edging; the rest of the hat is absolutely pristine. Please see all close-up photos.
Wear: to a wedding, to the Kentucky Derby, to Sunday services or Brunch...
Sally Victor is known as one of the leading hat designers in the United States; she is known for her style and distinction for middle-class women's designs, resulting in her creations becoming quite collectible, as well.
