This spring and summer hat has an enormous brim that can be worn turned down, or up, as the wearer wishes.
This looks like lacey white straw, but is made of a sturdy lightweight plastic, and has a contrast ribbon hat band of navy blue velveteen ribbon.
2" back brim, widening to 4.5" at the front
20 and 3/4" around inside band
Condition: the brim has a slight undulation, but it's quite charming. The cream colored grosgrain ribbon head band liner is pristine.
We've dated this to the 1960s, although the other day we saw a glimpse of a woman in a 1940s movie that was wearing a hat just like this...wish we would have caught the name of the film, but we did not. The plastic leaned us to the 60s, although early plastics were experimented with in a variety of fashion items. We apologize for the indefinite date for this.
Easter parade? Kentucky Derby? graduations? weddings? garden parties? summer gardening?
To protect this in transit, it will require shipping in a box to accommodate it properly, which may make the shipping a bit higher than one would expect for a lightweight hat.
