This shallow vintage pillbox hat with side prongs is made of dark brown faux fur that resembles cowhide and features 6 faceted ovals made of iridescent plastic around the front, with small clear tube beads cluster glued along the edge.
This measures 20 and 3/4" around grosgrain ribbon, but, it's designed to sit more on top of the head than pulled down on it, so one size fits most. It is 9.5" front hem to back hem, up and over the top of the very narrow crown.
The exterior feels smooth and rounded, while the underside feels slightly dented: this is not visible when worn, but we want to make note of it.
In otherwise wonderful condition with no other issues. Ready to wear.
The heavily encrusted edging definitely indicates 1960s vintage, and the quality of beading (that of plastic) suggests this was made by a not-designer end manufacturer. None the less, it is a very dramatic look. This could also be worn, costume wise, as a head dress for a lovely Ren Faire maiden, as well.
