This is a fabulous vintage sixties hat by the collectible and creative designer, Michael Terre of Southern California.
Designed to be worn with the dramatic bouffant and beehive hair styles of the era, these bubble hats were the rage.
This is smoothly woven in natural beige tones with wide (2.25") mocha, medium brown colored grosgrain ribbon band paired with rich orange-y coral in a flamboyant wing shape. This has the same cocoa color of huge flocked net ( 7/8" squares) over the crown.
This is 20 and 5/8" around the inner grosgrain ribbon band;
and sits about 6.5" high,
and is 7 and 3/4" across the rim.
The longest side of the decorative wing is 7".
Condition: there are a couple of breaks in the net, but it is quite secure and could most likely be reinforced/mended by a quality seamstress. There is also a small dent, this could be gently reshaped with steam.
This is super clean, and ready to wear
