This navy blue beret is by the quality hat maker, Everitt, and is made of their signature coiled weave wool that resembles the look of knit.
This measures: 9" across 22 and 3/4" around.
This has an interesting tuck (3/4") from the label in the back up around the side for 9" that gives a bit of shape to this otherwise very soft bodied hat.
Even thought this is a thick coiled yarn that has the appearance of a knit, it really is quite stable and doesn't have much (if any) stretch to it. This label has gold embroidery on a cream color rather than the pure white which were used later. We are dating this at the 1960s, but it may have been made earlier; berets were very popular in the 1940s, as well.
We also have another navy blue coiled Everitt hat, with brass hardware that is available now, too (see final image). Sold separately, but would discount if you would like them both.
