Here's a fresh white hanky with warm fall colors of yellow and harvest gold mums with russet-orange leaves and wheat, with deep olive green leaves and fresh ivory flowers, too.
This has the design repeated in each of the four corners. It has a row of little leaves dancing along the machine-stitched hem and is finished with scalloped embroidery accenting their bottom edges.
This measures about 13" (33 cm) square and is in excellent condition: we can find no flaws on it.
These were considered a necessity for any lady; they're still a smart and stylish way to accessorize seasonally and/or to endure an autumn head cold.
This one is estimated to be 1960s vintage, possibly 1950s.
We've seen all kinds of neat ways to use vintage hankies, we love them folded on the diagonal, flipped over a colorful ribbon, and used as banners (for wedding showers, reunions, baby showers...), they can be done in a mix of colors, or just use all orange and yellow, for example!
We've also seen them matted and framed like artwork and used to decorate a vintage shop's dressing rooms, and lined up down the center of a table as a decorative runner. Again, they can be colorized for seasons, hang them down a hallway, or as a wall hanging head board for your Thanksgiving guest's bed.
