Here is a beautiful floral and butterfly print hanky in a colorway from the late 1930s early 1940s.
The colors are vivid, and include: lipstick red, straw yellow, celadon green, and dove gray with black detailing and hem edge.
This is crisp, pristine, in excellent condition: it appears to have never been used. It has more of a linen hand, than a cotton hand.
Measurements are: 11 7/8" across by 10 7/8" up and down.
Every lady used to always carry a fresh handkerchief: to church, school programs, card club; my mom always had one in her purse, no matter where she went...even to the grocery store!
we've included an image of an outdoor party decorated with vintage hankies as a hanging pennant, and as a table-runner. We've also seen them mounted and framed as art, and within old farmhouse windows for decor.
