We just acquired this lovely filet crochet lace antimacassar from the early 1900s.
It has a double floral design.
This is wider than many that we've seen before, but we forgot to measure it. (we'll try to add this for you)
We photographed it on one of our favorite studio chairs...we estimate it at about 18 to 20" across.
These were used to protect furniture from wear: the ones for the back of chairs to keep (often) greasy or oily hair products from ruining the tops of chairs (when a gentleman would lean his head back).
In excellent condition, especially considering it's age.
