This delightful print is titled "Swedish Dinner" and is done in shades of red, bright yellow, gray and espresso brown on white.
It has a charming, smiling (and crowned) sun at the top, some mountains, a Swedish village with quaint buildings, a big wedge of cheese, a cherry, a swirl ( I THINK that represents those marvelous cookies that Swedes make...), a bottle of aquavit and a colorful platter of fish.
The menu is simply
*Dilled New Potatoes
*Caramel (? not sure?)
This is a mirror image, printed to face the bottom on each end.
This measures 28 1/2" by 16".
Freshly hand laundered, hung to dry, and pressed.
No stains, no holes; has a nice soft hand, like cotton, rather than linen, but it looks more like linen. The crocheted edging feels like all cotton, too.
Estimated 1950s vintage, could be earlier.
