Freshly laundered little vintage handkerchief of red & green poinsettias on soft white background with machine-stitched hem.
This is about 12" square.
Terrific Christmas red, the green shade is more of a celadon, or sea foam green rather than dark evergreen, which suggests this could be from an earlier time, possibly as early as the 1930s.
Two corners are perfect, one has a 1/8" break in the hem stitching, while the other corner is a bit stressed with a 1/8" break in the hem stitching as well. Please see the close-up shots for detail.
Vintage hankies make delightful gifts for any true vintie: perfect as a stocking stuffer, or use it as a bow to decorate a gift!
Some like to decorate with hankies: use a bunch of them layered in a row as a table runner, sew them into a pillow cover, hang as a valance, or string them along for a banner decoration!
