Do you ever spend a quiet evening pulling out the old vinyls and strolling down memory lane? Or have you ever seen an entire lounge wall covered in awesome vintage album cover art?? like the old cha chas? or Martin Denny?
We especially like the old holiday albums, so when we found this one of "Elvis Sings Christmas Songs Elvis' Christmas Album" with this way cool dust jacket cover of him in a super mod striped racing jacket, with his sparkling eyes, signature pompadour hair-do with sexy loose front curl on his forehead, and charming smile, we just HAD to have it!
This was released by RCA in 1970, it is a Mono CAL-2428. It has all his most popular versions of Christmas favorites with side one having:
"Santa Claus is Back in Town" and the tear-jerker
"I'll Be Home for Christmas."
Side two has:
"If Every Day Was Like Christmas",
"Here Comes Santa Claus",
"Oh Little Town of Bethlehem",
"Santa, Bring My Baby Back (To Me)" and by request,
"Mama Liked the Roses."
This is a GREAT collectible...there are light scratches on side one, so although there were occasional little pops and crackles here and there, we were absolutely delighted when there were no skips or jumps when we listened to it!
The front of the album cover has light surface wear around the edges (PLEASE SEE PHOTOS), but nothing distracting. The King is super handsome set in a wintery white background with evergreens and a blue blue sky!
And the back of the cover is cool, too! It shows three other records available at the time, "Elvis sings Flaming Star", "Let's Be Friends", and "Elvis almost in love".
This awesome album was once owned by Jack Schroeder, and has his name written in the upper right hand corner on the front.
