Here is a lovely spring summer handbag made of creamy ivory colored crocheted corde.
These were wildly popular in the 1940s, however, they also were in vogue in the 60s ~ we feel this "popcorn" style may be later, than earlier.
This does have a little crocheted coin or card bag on the inside that is tethered with a chain of braided corde; it is flat and has a snap closure. Measuring only 4" x 2", it is large enough for a bit of change, or some cash, but most likely is designed to hold calling or social cards nice and flat. This actually suggests an earlier date of manufacture.
Purse measures 9.5" across, 5" high.
This is lined in ivory faille which is quite clean, but could use a bit of steam.
This zips shut along the top with a metal Talon zipper, 7 1/2" long, slides perfectly.
This is remarkably clean for it's age ~ there are a couple of tiny areas along the bottom that could use a bit of attention, but they are not readily visible, or distracting what so ever.
This could be a neat idea for a bride's wedding day, in this champagne shade of white... something old, something new...something borrowed, something blue...
