Here is a fabulous pair of flared Van Raalte gloves made of their "Reindoe" suede finished cotton in a glorious shade of straw yellow.
There is an embroidered Van Raalte label on the inside of the right glove, these are marked size 6 1/2.
These measure 3" across the width of the hand, and 10" from tip of the middle-finger to the hem. Some refer to this length as bracelet length.
There is a slight bit of stretch to these lending a nice fit.
The palm and inner fourchette seams are in-seam sewn, however the top of the hand and the thumb are out-seam-sewn with a contrast toned whip-stitching in a dark tone; in bright day light, it looks like a dark eggplant or purple-ish shade of brown colored thread.
There are no skipped stitches, there is just the very slightest hint of wear on the inner fingers. For gloves from the 1940s, these are in amazing shape.
Comes with a clear Van Raalte plastic glove sheath, with the logo "Because you love nice things".
The final photograph is an ad from a 1940 Life magazine for Van Raalte Reindoe gloves.
The Van Raalte company was established in 1913, and known not only for their lovely, well-made, high quality gloves, but is even more well-known for it's highly desirable and classic lingerie.
