This pretty cream colored maxi dress from the 70s is in the style of the popular Gunne Sax dresses; it's trimmed with a lace inset in the bodice, and lace around the jewel neckline, sleeve hems and hems.
This has elbow length puff sleeves with banded, buttoned hems, and ties to pull the fullness of the dress to the back. The skirt flares to a full, flouncy hem with a deep ruffle all around.

These prairie dresses were very popular to wear to prom and especially to weddings, often as the bridal gown, many in Bohemian settings, outdoors, on the beach, in a meadow or out in the timberland forests. Weave a head lei of flowers with ribbons trailing down the back for the full hippie bride look.
