This adorable dress from the 60s has a built in crisp net crinoline with a slimmer sweep of hem which creates a charmingly puffy fullness to the skirt! And, the skirt is covered in in white and light chartreuse lace in circular designs that adds even more fullness!
The bodice is fitted with darts up from the waistline and in from the sideseams.
There is a delightfully large bow perched on top of the (wearer's) left shoulder while the neckline is wide across the front, dipping to a V in the back.
Color: this is a light, pastel chartreuse, sort of yellow, sort of green. Absolutely gorgeous.
Measurements translate to a contemporary size small:
It is 16" across back + 19.5” across front = 36” bust
Hips free (up to 56”)
15.5” long from shoulder to waist
40” long from shoulder to hem
56” sweep of hem
center back zipper.
Condition: nearly perfect. We found some subtle corsage pin scars on the right shoulder; they are not readily visible, but present. Also, even though this is remarkably clean and has no odors, we have not had this dry-cleaned as our local service has ruined a few of our garments now. Pricing a bit lower, accordingly.
These fancy dresses were often worn to wedding receptions, award ceremonies, graduation parties, formal events, cocktail parties.
In order to not crush the fullness of the skirt, it would be best to pack this without folding (the skirt), requiring a longer box than normal for a dress to be shipped.
