This bright paisley print straight cut shift dress with front placket (shirt dress), features red snaps down the front and at the wrist closures, with a back yoke, two large patch pockets and very short collar points.
We discovered in a discussion at The Vintage Fashion Guild, that these Model's Coat logo dresses were actually a Division of Swirl (thanks, Ruth!).
Years ago, we heard these were intended as easy-slip-on-and-off garments for models to wear while their hair and makeup was done for runway shows, as well as for photo shoots. The snap fronts (and cuffs) made it super easy to change quickly, as needed.
17" shoulder point to shoulder point
21" sleeve length
42" sweep of hem
2" collar point
Colors: turquoise, red, olive green, and black with yellow and white accents.
Condition: to us, at the 3rd snap down from the top? it appears a bit lighter. Fortunately, this is such a delightfully busy paisley print, that it is disguised well within it.
In otherwise excellent condition, remarkably vivid colors; freshly laundered and ready to wear.
