This elegant evening dress from the 70s is made with a solid black bodice and pretty, ikat looking print skirt and belt.

The skirt has no side seams: there is just the center back seam.
This has a center back zipper: the front looks like it buttons, but the buttons are sewn all the way through the fabric which suggests that the design originally was for a very deep (to the waist) plunging neckline, and that an owner added the buttons for modesty's sake.
The long collar points, maxi length and swishy fabrication all suggest 70s manufacture.
Fiber: synthetic swishy, lightweight slinky skirt (maybe an acrylic or nylon, or nylon blend possbily), while the bodice and sleeves are of a more structured (poly) synthetic.
The belt has holes at 24.5”, 25.5”, 26.5”, 27.5” and 28.5”.
These dresses were worn for evening wear “out”, as well as “in” for entertaining at home (thus, the name hostess dress). Great for foorball weekend parties, and holiday get togethers.
This is clean and ready to wear with no flaws. It does have the scent of laundry soap.
