This is a beautifully tailored dress with exquisite details: from bound finished buttonholes, to the zippered sleeves, to the unexpected exotic draped back skirt panel, this dress is magnificent.
Labeled Paul Parnes, with another label of "American Beauty Styled by Betty Dain" in red on white with a rose on the print.
This slim silhouette features a fitted bodice with a deep V front buttoned neckline with open wing collar; this is belted at the waist, and extends into an elongated peplum to just above the hip.
All around the peplum's hem is a row of evenly spaced buttons, each with a bound buttonhole beneath it.
This has padded shoulders, and slender set in sleeves with zippered hems at the wrist.
This has a side zipper (as well as the buttoned front).
As tailored as this dress is, it was a surprise to find that the back of the skirt is draped with controlled gathers at the right hip, lending an almost sarong look.

Length from center back of the neck to the waist: 17"
Length from center back of the neckline to the hem: 44"

We acquired this without the original belt: the belt we styled it with is not included.
We had to lighten the photos to show detailing: this is a rich, dark black.
This is freshly dry-cleaned and in excellent condition.
