Here is an official boy scout mess kit in a convenient canvas cover with adjustable cross body carrying strap. There are boy scout emblem snaps and stamps on the canvas cover.
This measures 8 and 3/4" across from rim to rim.
Within the circular bottom pan there is included:
* a pie tin looking pan (can be used as a plate)
* a pot with a wire handle, and a lid to fit it (for boiling water, or making a stew or soup)
* the exterior pan bottom is a skillet.
The mechanism that holds the kit together (with a wing nut) can be used as a handle for the skillet. This piece is also stamped with the Boy Scout emblem.
There is also a handy plastic (melamine, melamac) cup included.
The aluminum pans are made by and marked "Regal" on their bottoms.
Condition: Pristine. The only area of concern is the carrying strap that is strained: it could easily be mended and repaired to strengthen it again.
From the estate of the boy scout who used this in the 1960s; however, you don't have to be a scout to enjoy the clever and efficient design of this essential piece of camping gear.
