Here is a fabulous vintage 60s aloha shirt with a shirt jac hem in a huge wild swirl op art wave print of deep espresso brown on white.
Labeled "Liberty House" "Tropicana Hawaii" with the Liberty House "LH" logo signifies this was sold by the premiere department store of the islands. They were known to hire local designers to promote Hawaiian made products, and often carried lines exclusively.
Made in the popular shirt jac style of center front placket, front hem band, sleeves, collar and back bodice cut in contrasting fabric: which is a pique knit in solid white, while the front panels are cut in a fabulous smooth knit in this amazing print; it also has a single bound pocket on the left chest; all easy wash n wear 100% polyester.
5.5" neck point to shoulder point,
26" from center back of the neck to hem,
17.5" across back shoulder point to shoulder point and a
9.5" sleeve length.
Condition: the covered buttons have darkened over time, most likely they were glued in place, which does darken with age. If we would keep this? we would swap out the buttons before wearing. This is in otherwise excellent condition, and has been freshly laundered.
These tiki shirts are perfect for back-to-school, or your wild weekend to Vegas (VLV), or for your Hawaii 5-0 themed BBQ next weekend.
We suggest wearing them local style: open with a fresh white t-shirt underneath.
