Vintage Purple and White Gingham Apron with Black Cross Stitch Embroidery Windmills

We were fortunate to acquire a group of hand worked cross stitch embroidered aprons that appear to have never been worn.

They are lovely, classic aprons which were popular for many years making it difficult to date them. They are from the estate of a woman who got married in the early 1940s and did all kinds of handwork and crafts, so it could be from her early marriage years, or something she may have done later in life. We feel they are probably earlier than later, as she was a farm housewife who had three boys, and, honestly? who has time to embroider once that chaos has started?

The aprons are in a variety of sizes, a variety of designs, and a variety of colors.

We are pricing and selling individually, but are happy to combine to reduce shipping; we will discount for a multiple item order, too.

This apron features purple and white gingham with a tuck pleated waistband and fabulous design of windmills and flowers, clouds in the sky, and geometric border detail.

Measurements:

Waistband is 1 and 1/2” wide

Top of apron skirt: 18”

Across hem of skirt: 34.25”

Length from top of waistband to hem: 21 and 1/8” long

Ties: 3.25” wide x 23” long.

Freshly laundered ready to wear; we did find a mended area within the geometric border, on the wearer’s left side measuring about 1" by 1/2." Pricing lower, accordingly.
