This vintage pinafore apron is absolutely charming with it's novelty print featuring Mexican and southwest imagery, all in bright colors of red and blue with purple, green, orange and black on fresh white cotton.
Motifs include: exotic plants (an orchid, a melon, a pear), an adorable striped pig! a dude wearing a serape and sombrero, a bowl of fruit, a market place, a sail boat, a donkey, and of course cactus, which also are used to outline the design, as well!
This truly is a pin-a-fore with the bib needed to be pinned to a bodice, or, it can be worn tucked behind the skirt, too. There is a pocket on the wearer's right hand side.
Measurements:
Bib:
8.5" across top x
6.75" from top to top of waistband
16" across top of skirt
Skirt:
1.5" wide waistband
26" from bottom of waistband to hem
23" long tails (each)
This does fit most sizes, depending on how you tie the tails.
Condition: we found some light rust spots along the waistband, front and back, and a well-done patch on the (wearer's) right side, just below the pocket, near the hem; we found another mended area, all in white with a few stitches.
We have many more images of the motifs if you'd like to see them, please contact us and we'll be happy to share more images with you.
