HERE’S A RARE MATCHING PAIR (2) OF ORIGINAL ANTIQUE MID-TO-LATE 19TH CENTURY VICTORIAN-ERA “MARY GREGORY” PINK & WHITE CASED AND HAND-BLOWN ART GLASS VASES THAT DISPLAY BEAUTIFULLY-PAINTED WHITE ENAMELED DESIGNS REMINISCENT OF CAMEO GLASS DEPICTING YOUNG GIRLS IN NATURE AMONG TREES AND PLANTS OF VARIOUS TYPES, WITH ONE OF THE GIRLS DRINKING FROM A GLASS BOTTLE OR POSSIBLY BLOWING A HORN AND THE OTHER HOLDING A SMALL NET OVER HER SHOULDER AS A BUTTERFLY APPROACHES TO LAND ON HER FINGER!

Please Note: Both vases have hand-applied small white enameled dots around the top lip of the base as well as around the shoulder area. In addition, there is circular gold trim around the top edge of the base, the stem area between the base and the body of the vase, the shoulder area, and the top rim.

Similar examples of mid to late 19th century “Mary Gregory” have been attributed to Bohemian glass companies. However, the vases being sold here have attributes more akin to English Bristol glass.

Dimensions: Both vases measure approximately ten and three quarters inches (10 3/4”) in height, three and five eighths inches (3 5/8”) in diameter across the top, by four inches (4”) in diameter across the base.

Unfortunately, there is no maker’s mark or identifying marking.

Condition: The vase with the young girl holding a butterfly net is in very good toward excellent and clean condition with some wear on the gold trim, some wear on the underside bottom where the vase meets the counter, and a couple of small production flaws (these are minor).

The vase with the young girl drinking from a bottle is generally the same very good toward excellent and clean condition BUT, AND PLEASE READ, there are two flakes chips on the outside top rim area (see photos). Similarly to the other vase, there is some wear on the gold trim, some wear on the underside bottom where the vase meets the counter, and a couple of small production flaws (these are minor).
