HERE’S A SIGNED MODERN THICK-WALLED CLEAR & FROSTED FRENCH CRYSTAL ART GLASS “DAMPIERRE” VASE ORIGINALLY DESIGNED BY MARC LALIQUE IN 1948 AND MADE BY LALIQUE OF FRANCE THAT DISPLAYS A CLEAR CHALICE FORM BODY ON WHICH ARE ALTERNATING FROSTED SPARROW BIRDS AND FLOWER GARLANDS!
Please Note: According to the website for Lalique, the “Dampierre” vase has a retail list price of $925.00 and is described in the following way: “Designed in 1948 by Marc Lalique, this vase is decorated with carved birds in satin crystal. Through this vase, Lalique pays tribute to two themes dear to René Lalique, the Fauna and Flora. This piece takes us to a dreamlike state of nature, answering a need for authenticity and wellbeing.”
Dimensions: The vase measures approximately four and three quarters inches (4 3/4”) in height, four and one half inches (4 ½”) in diameter across the top, by two and one half inches (2 ½”) in diameter across the base.
Signature: Signed on the underside bottom with an inscribed signature “Lalique” along with another word that indecipherable at the time of this writing.
Condition: Generally excellent and clean condition BUT, AND PLEASE READ, there is a short scratch on the underside bottom and there is an extremely small, about the size of a speck, abrasion on the outer top rim area (barely visible). Overall and regardless of these two minor faults, this is still a beautiful original “Dampierre” Lalique vase!
