Here for your consideration is an unusual sterling silver Maison Martin Margiela bracelet made in Italy.
This striking bracelet has a huge quartz crystal prong-set center stone which is encased in a burnished brass setting. The stone may be prasiolite quartz as it has a slight green tint in some of the photos. The base of this bracelet tested as sterling silver. This bracelet closes with a side hook closure and is in very good condition. It has a lovely warm patina. The bracelet is from Margiela's Line 11 and I don't know the year it was produced, but it is indeed vintage. It was definitely not mass produced and appears to be quite rare. It is heavy (74 grams), bold, and beautiful.
The elusive Martin Margiela has been mystifying the fashion industry with his avant-garde collections ever since he stepped out of Belgium’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1979. After working for Jean Paul Gaultier, he founded his own brand in 1988 and since then, the in-house design team has continually pushed the boundaries between art and fashion. This is a wonderful example of his work, don't miss out!
