Here for your consideration is a beautiful vintage Mexican Alexandrite Footprints Pendant by JS in Taxco, Mexico.
This beautifully detailed heavy sterling silver pendant is quite large and has lovely intricate cutouts. The cutouts are are on the top and around the sides of the pendant. It has a large color-changing prong-set alexandrite stone (lab grown) in the center. The stone is encircled by scrolling designs and cutout footprints along the center edges. The back is open only behind the stone which makes the center stone really bright and colorful when worn. The last photo shows the color change under fluorescent lighting. In very good to excellent condition with a nice warm patina.
This pendant is similar in style and size to the Los Ballesteros footprint pendant, but this one is by Taxco silversmith, JS, and has an Eagle 3 marking.
This piece is huge, gorgeous and very well made. It is the largest Mexican pendant that I havehad. It actually looks like a big, thick, sterling silver cookie. Don’t let it get away!
Length w/bale: 4”
Weight: 60 grams
Hallmarks: JS 925, Mexico, Taxco, Eagle 3
Condition: Very good vintage
