Wonderful EAPG clear glass pitcher by Beatty-Brady, circa 1890's... commemorating the famous Admiral Dewey, his famous flagship the USS Olympia during the Spanish American War...the glass is stippled with a clear glass handle and rope rim..the pitcher displays many raised pictures and symbols traveling around the sides... one side of pitcher displaying a portrait of Dewey,framed in acanthus leaves with an Eagle above,his 2 star flag and an anchor below, crossed ship flags and a cannon...the handle area displays a Cuban and American Flag..the other side of pitcher displays the USS Olympia..running around the bottom of the pitcher are piles of cannon balls, 2 piles having an artillery shell on top, between the rest of the piles there is a maltese cross, crossed rifles and crossed swords..pitcher is in excellent condition with no chips,cracks or cloudiness, there is some roughage on one of the bullets and some at bottom foot edge....measures 9"high to top of spout, 5"wide across rim, 7 1/2"wide including spout and handle...Lovely pitcher to add to your collection..
