This book "War-Path and Bivouac" contains great reading, giving personal accounts of experiences endured in the Big Horn & Yellowstone Expedition of 1876...the author, John Finerty, was a war correspondent in the field, working for the Chicago Times and also an active member of the 3rd Calvary....these accounts bring to the reader the adventure, hardships, heroes and horrors of our last great Indian wars including the Custer Massacre, the defeat of Crazy Horse and death of Sitting Bull..the book contains 10 chapters plus , photos provided of some of the context
hard back cover displays wear, soiling, corner bumps, top & bottom spine shelf wear, spine is a little soft, all pages attached...soiled end pages...book is complete, contains 460 pages...interior pages have age toning(tanning), light soiling, a smudge here & there... the title page has a short tear at bottom by spine, 6 pages close to front have a shallow page edge slit, some of paper in these slits have chipped off... also a few tiny corner creases, some back pages having very small top corner paper chips.....book measures 7 3/4" X 5 1/2"...great book you will enjoy reading....
