Here is a high quality German porcelain 11 piece child's tea set. The set appears to be at least partially hand painted since under a strong magnifying glass I can see brush strokes and raised painted surfaces. The teapot depicts a woodland prince and princess, while the other pieces depict children frolicking in the meadow with flowers. What is unusual about this set is that the original whiteware manufacturers backstamp has been covered for the most pat by a gold geometric covering. Two of the saucers have backstamps with the rest not having any. My understanding is that the covering of whiteware backstamps was a fairly routine occurrence, and was done by the decorator. The teapot measures approx. 6" from spout to handle, approx 6 3/4" tall, the sugar 2 3/4" across, 1 1/4" deep, creamer is 2 1/2" from spout to handle 2 1/2" tall, cup is 1 7/8" across, 2 1/2" high, and saucer 4 3/4" across. The set is in excellent condition with the exception of gold loss, and the cover not fitting tight
