1950s Handpainted Mexican circle skirt with sequins in size small, medium or large. Above excellent condition; adjustable waist and all original.
This wonderful example of Mexican folk art. These were great souvenir items made for tourists in the 50s. Ideal for a Cinco De Mayo celebration.
Measurements in inches: Waist 26 inches - 34 inches (adjustable with ties at the waist), Length 29-1/2 inches. This is more than a full circle. Very, very full.
Blue cotton skirt is hand painted with black bold brush strokes in abstract images. Sweeping curves, curls and circles. These are decorated with hand sewn silvery sequins.
Accent strokes of black are in the background and along the hemline. More sequins are dotted around the skirt from the waist to the hip area.
Two sets, of self fabric ties at the waist, are used to wrap and tie the skirt to the desired fit.
Fabric is strong with no holes or signs of significant wear. This is an excellent weight cotton. The colors are fresh and vibrant. Sequins may have faded slightly over the years. However they appear to be consistent in color. None appear to be missing. There are a couple of very, very light tan spots, lost in the folds and do not affect use or presentation. These are less than 1 to 1-1/2 inch in size.
This is fabulous, flashy and ready to wear. Weight will require Priority Mail shipping. Part of insurance is covered in this cost. You can decline further insurance if you have a secure delivery site.
