Men's 1930s vest with a subtle blue stripe and 6 buttons for the hipster man or woman. Size is Small for men and a large for women. Chest 40, length from shoulder to peaked hem in front is 22 inches. Armhole opening is 26 inches around.
The six button closure and FOUR pocket design is very era specific. One piece garment has no lapels, back belt adjustment for a perfect fit. The fancy, gunmetal buckle is wonderful with a fleur dis lis stamping. Front hem has sharp peaks. The back is straight cut
Worsted wool tweed has a subtle (very subtle) red stripe. Understated, and beautiful fabric. Sides and back are a coordinated blue acetate. The silky acetate lining is a silvery color.
The high front edge of this vest is one reason men's ties were so short in the 1930s. Only the knot would show when worn with a 6 button vest.
This would look amazing worn with a long sleeve shirt and turned up cuffs.
Condition is VERY good used vintage. It is clean. The wool is perfect. Original plastic buttons are great. The buttonholes are terrific. Fabulous color with no fading or spots.
Back belt has been hand tacked into place on one side. This is a well done, slight repair. There are a few small holes a/or snags in the BACK bottom left of the shiny fabric. These are picture.
NOTE: the pictures are much enlarged. Not much to be done with them, just wear with panache'.
