Exquisite, 1940s Evans Compact Purse Rhinestone Set Gold Mesh Unused, in mint condition. Best gift ever!
The purse hangs 6 inches, without the mesh strap, which is 4 inches long. It is about 4 - 3/4 inches wide, across the rhinestone studded top (lid)
This vintage gold tone metal purse and compact combination by Evans is unused, in mint condition.
The top / lid is textured black silk, faille fabric and is set with BRILLIANT crystal rhinestones. It opens to reveal the purse compartment and the compact / rouge compartments.
The cover to the rouge compartment is silver tone metal. It is polished to a mirror finish.
The original rouge cake is in place and is embossed with the EVANS logo, May Fair, and the family / company crest. The rouge is mint, never used and has it's original "puff".
The powder compartment has it's original "puff" as well. No powder has ever been put into the compartment. It is machine turned to a perfect "T".
All snaps, hinges and latches work as new on every compartment.
The purse itself, in fluid gold tone metal mesh, was likely made for Evans by Whiting Davis. The mesh is in BRILLIANT, mint condition.
The fine metal mesh handle / strap is fluid and will slip over the wrist perfectly.
Rare to find in this condition; worthy of an advanced collection.
