Rare vintage sewing pattern from the late 30s by McCall / McCall's # 3271, dated 1939. This pattern is for an elegant, demure evening gown. Size in this envelope for measurements in inches: Bust 36, waist 28, hip 38.
This pattern was drafted the same year GONE WITH THE WIND was filmed. American fashion took on a decidedly Scarlett O'Hara / Southern Belle look for a time. This pattern is reflective of designer details of the era / Hollywood inspired fashion.
Features: one piece, floor length dress: Peter Pan collar, half sleeves gathered high at the shoulder & fitted at the cuff, extravagant full skirt gathered in three graduated tiers.
Front button placket is optional. Skirt attaches to the fitted bodice at the natural waistline. In BACK the bodice is just slightly lowered at the waist, where it attaches to the skirt.
Printed pattern is complete with instructions for choosing fabric, laying out the pattern, cutting, sewing and finishing the garments shown on the envelope.
Love the red and white polka dot dotted Swiss fabric on the mannequin!
This is a McCalls printed sewing pattern. This printed pattern has been cut. The envelope shows wear and some staining.
