Vintage Brooch Ando Cloisonne Orchid Enamel Japanese Asian Artistry. This is a beautiful work of art. Measurements: 1-3/8 inches x 7/8 inches.
Extremely fine wire work, the most intricate I have ever seen in a cloisonne piece. The silver wires are almost invisible. Vivid colors are used to create an exquisite orchid blossom. Pastels and white with shades of blue with green foliage.
This brooch is so lovely. You will enjoy it for many years. It is a work of art.
The domed front of this brooch is set on a silver tone, metal frame. The pin mechanism works perfectly. This is authentic vintage and so feminine.
It is hard to find jewelry done by Ando. I have collected the early plates and bowls but, have never before had a brooch.
The Ando Cloisonne Co. of Nagoya Japan made trinket boxes, vases, bowls, decorative plates and jewelry. I believe this lovely brooch is circa 1965. Store fronts were also located in Tokyo.
Usually marked with only paper labels, these are often missing from their items.
Condition is above excellent. A few minor spots to the finish on back of the brooch and one tiny mar to the enamel work located at the very lower right side.
