1920s - 1930s blue silk necktie with the unique Grayco End Lock; beautiful Depression Era neck tie.
Measurements: 46 inches long x 3-3/8 inches wide.
At the inside of the "wide" end is a tiny silver metal clip marked End Lock / Grayco / Pat. Pend. It was to secure the skinny end to the wide end when worn.
Clever! I've only had one or two of cure these unique ties before. They are quite fun.
The woven silk fabric has a very fine faille finish. This is a classic, British regimental striped tie. Stripes, running from left to right are blue, red woven with a blue "dash" design and, a very narrow white stripe.
Neckties of this era were short, had no visible facing and both tips had top stitch finished points. This is an authentic, late 20s to mid 30s tie.
Clean with no holes or fraying. May need to be steamed after it's travel through the Post Office delivery system.
The tag: C.C. Anderson Co. is the department store where the tie was sold. This was an Idaho based chain of department stores with it's large, main store located here in Boise, Idaho, built in 1927. Satellite stores were located across Idaho.
