Edwardian Era vanity lace pin with sweet filigree and a simulated garnet rhinestone. Darling little brooch measures: 1-1/4 X 5/8 inch. Likely purchased by mail from a catalog like Sears and Roebuck or Montgomery Ward at the early part of the century.
Gilt brass with delicate metal work including swirls, curls and metal beading; is set with a faceted glass stone. It has an early rotating clasp. Marked on the back, with the letters AP surrounded by a large C.
There IS some wear to the gilding. Presents as a delightful, antique vanity piece. Ladies wore these pinned to a lace fichu or high necks of their Victorian blouses and jackets.
