Sterling Silver bracelet with Fleur de Les motif from 1943 by Artistic Silver Craft NY. Measuring 7-1/2 inches long X 3/4 inch wide. Beautiful, fluid, flexible links weighing 14.7 grams on my scale.
Such a feminine piece! Almost 75 years old and in wonderful condition. It feels wonderful on the hand. The plumes of the Fleur de Les are puffy. The links between each are finely crafted.
This patent number: 2,368,543 was issued on July 8th 1943 for a jewelry lock, by Henry Hattenrath (1894 - 1975), Brooklyn, N. Y. He was the assignor to Artistic Silver Craft, Inc., New York, N. Y.
In very, very fine condition with no dents or bends. The slide and lock clasp works perfectly. The only surprising thing about this piece is; the patent was issued during WWII when metal was used for the war effort. This leads me to believe the piece was made AFTER WWII had ended and, the patent was still held by Artistic Silver Craft.
Lightly polished, no damage. So exquisite.
