Rare Lucite and what I believe is cellulose acetate, an amazing tube necklace in a circlet construction. It is Ultra Mod. The layered center bead; from the 1970s wonderful. It measures: approximately 14 inches from end to end.
It is shown on a mannequin so you get an idea of how it will lay. This style is a variation of a TORC necklace with the opening in the back rather than the front.
I have never had one like it in over 30 years of selling jewelry. Now I have this and another similar. What a find!
The center oval bead is striped and measures about 1-1/2 inch around. Shades of orange, warm melon, almost a red stripe and white. It is a long oval with flat ends. Caps are gold tone.
The long, slender, curved, side tubes are a vivid, orange. Not electric. A great color. There are gold tone metal caps at the end of each tube. I believe this part of the necklace could be cellulose acetate.
There is a hook at one end and a gold tone metal chain at the other. Length is slightly adjustable.
All three pieces fit together and lay beautifully at the hollow of the throat. It could be lengthened by adding some jump rings to the chain. Hook and chain closure.
Mint, marvelous and rare. I have never seen another like it. Circa 1975, Ultra Mod Madness.
