Wonderful, early 1950s arched moonglow Lucite ribbon brooch. A great example of mid century costume jewelry. It measures 2-1/2 inches long X 1-1/2 inch wide and the best part: stands out in 3 D X 1/2 inch.
Nice size, terrific presentation. The arched pieces are made of light changing Lucite moonglow. They are attached to a solid base. When held sideways you can see that there is clear plastic stabilizing the ribbons. Arched Lucite forms almost a Celtic knot.

This is a great example of how Lucite was used in costume jewelry in the very early 50s. Some collectors call this "spun nylon".
Wonderful vintage condition noting minor wear to the high point of one ribbon. Strong clasp and terrific "glow".
