Dramatic vintage rhinestone brooch in fancy filigree metal. Measures 2-2-3 inches across. This is a large brooch. It stands out in 3-D about 1/4 inch. The center stone is 7/8 inch across and is Concave. Most unusual. All of the rhinestones are faceted glass. Circa 1935 it has the look of ancient jewelry.
The unusual cut of the big, red stone, gives terrific light play when the brooch is moved. Multi colored, faceted stones are green, gold blue and red. These are set in crowns of fancy filigree. Each looks like a tiny tiara. The metal is brass with a gold tone finish.
All of this intricate work is attached to a strong, filigree back. The pin mechanism is a simple "C" closure. It is riveted to the filigree backing and is very strong. Excellent components with an European flavor. It was likely make immediately before or right after WWII.
There is a tiny bit of verdigris on the metal next to one stone. It is a very small spot; about 1/4 x 1/4 inch and a very small dent in the metal bezel setting of the large center stone. Not bad for an item over 80 years old.
