Sterling Silver and Malachite necklace with matching earrings; pre 1948 in an industrial, Mid Century design Necklace weighing 109 grams. Heavy, dramatic and in fabulous condition.
Stunning set is Pre-Eagle era; made before 1948 and is minty condition. These pieces are strongly modernist / Industrial.
The necklace lays in a perfect circle and is 17 inches end to end. It is 1/4 inch at the widest part and is just shy of 1/4 THICK. Very dimensional pieces.
The matching, pierced earrings hang 1-7/8 inches are have pierced findings.
The heavy, handcrafted links have deep, facet construction. The thick links have an elongated "C" shape. Between each link is a rich green faceted Malachite stone that is bezel set.
The unusual connection of the links is the work of a skilled silversmith. The connections are loops fitted through strong tubes. These connections move swivel smoothly and are extremely well made. I have never seen this particular construction feature before.
The necklace lays in a perfect circle. It lays beautifully as a circle. It is not a FLUID, drippy necklace. It lays so well. The necklace closes with a slide and lock button that holds perfectly.
The matching, pierced earrings are made in two parts and dangle. They also have strong construction and beautiful Malachite stones.
The necklace is marked MEXICO / T5-75 / 925. The earrings, unmarked, test strongly as sterling silver.
Industrial, post war and very DRAMATIC. The silver has been hand polished and is in terrific condition. The stones are gorgeous. There are a couple of teeny nicks.
This is a substantial set. It is 109 grams on my scale. You will know you are wearing an amazing piece of art. Worthy of a fine collection. You will turn some heads with this set.
