Large Tirschenreuth, Bavarian porcelain charger measures: 10 inches X 9 inches. Circa 1910. This is a magnificent piece of fine German porcelain. Condition is fabulous. Only used for display.
The hand painted decoration is superb. A basket of pink roses hang by a ribbon in the center. The wide yellow border has a rich trim of 24 kt gold.
The large plate has open work handles and feels wonderful in the hand. It is the most elegant porcelain. A show piece in any collection.
It is signed on the back: Tirschenreuth, Bavaria, Hand painted.
The wide yellow band with gilt decoration is a vivid frame for the subject. In perfectly, unused condition. No wear, no chips or signs of use.
You can see all the beauty in the pictures. I will only note that, there APPEARS to be a light mark in the body of the basket. This is not a wear mark! It is intentional to give depth to the image.
Back stamp is: a Crown Shield with Banner flanked by P and T with Tirschenreuth Bavaria and Hand painted. Mold numbers and artist's initials are also there. This mark was used between 1903 - 1927.
No wear or signs of use. Has only been used for display. One of the most exquisite porcelain pieces I have ever had.
