Butterscotch Bakelite Brooch Pierced Carved in High Relief; a BIG Chunk of Hand Worked Bakelite. This measures: 3 inches X 1-1/2 inch and stands out in dramatic 3-D about 3/4 inch at it's deepest part. It is hand carved and has been double tested as true Bakelite. This is a one of a kind stunner!
The carving is an open rose, 6 graceful leaves and completely pierced areas. The composition of this piece was done by an artist. Very hefty and a delight to hold! Bakelite brooches of this size and intricate detail are quickly going into collections.
Condition is above excellent with the pin mechanism heat set into the Bakelite. strongly made brooch. The rich Butterscotch is still glossy after all these years. Note: there is a 1/16th inch nick on the leaf that is 2nd from the bottom. This only shows under a loupe.
