Very Early Cloisonne Bangle Bracelet has an opening of 2-1/2 inch X 1/4 inch walls. All in excellent condition.
Starting with a very low price as an introduction to the shop.
Dating from the mid to late 1920s, this cloisonne bangle bracelet is a classic example of early Chinese jewelry.
It has all the hallmarks of authentic Asian construction: fine brass wire, rich enamel work and the all-telling vent hole on the inside.
Slender brass wires are filled with fired enamel images. There is a lush display of color on a white field. The images of flowers, and foliage are done in four groups on the domed surface. Shading of the colors is another sign of fine hand work. Razor thin wires form "clouds" on the white field between the groups of flowers.
The interior is enameled in a rich blue. The edges are brass. There is a tiny vent hole on the inside. Vent holes were necessary in the firing process to allow gasses to escape during the firing process.
I have not polished the brass. It could be made very shiny if you like.
