Antique Victorian Spooner EAPG Clear Turning Purple Circa 1900. This nostalgic piece of Early American Press Glass is in mint condition. It is 4 inches tall and 3-1/2 inches across.
Delightful piece of utilitarian antique glass was made to hold spoons at the table. The clear glass has a light purple shade in the glass. This is from being exposed to sunlight for over 100 years. The chemical manganese was used in making this glass and reacted to the sunlight over the years.
The saw tooth edge is scalloped. Two sides have a spinning star design. The other two sides have various diamond and panel designs. The bottom has a radiating star that likely signifies it was made by U.S. Glass.
No chips, cracks or scratches. There is very minor wear on the very bottom from having been slide along a table or shelf.
